The Surface Design Show 2009
The Surface Design Show features some of the most innovative and inspiring surfaces for the architecture and design industry by the market's most creative manufacturers and designers.
This year's show (Business Design Centre, Islington, London, 10-12 February 2009) promises to be no exception with first time exhibitors Bolon, Ceramiche Caesar, Consorzio Capolavori Italiani and many more launching new and exciting products.
The show is a fantastic platform for both first time and returning exhibitors and allows them to demonstrate their product to the highest calibre of visitor.
Swedish company Bolon has specialised in its own unique flooring design for nearly 60 years primarily aimed at the hotel, office and retail sector.
To highlight their first appearance at the Surface Design Show, Bolon will be launching Spektra, its new woven vinyl flooring.
Spektra sees a dramatic departure from Bolon's slightly austere Scandinavian design sensibility, which feature cool and natural colours, by introducing visitors to the company's most colourful collection ever, designed to awaken emotions while creating positive reactions.
Italian porcelain stonework specialists Ceramiche Caesar are using the Surface Design Show to introduce their latest unique and environmentally-friendly collections - More, Stream, Change, Soft and Absolute (pictured) - to the UK market.
Although achieving the highest quality design is always at the fore of Ceramiche Caesar's, they have strived to achieve a manufacturing process that respects the environment, which has helped them achieve IS0 14001 certification as well as earning Ecolabel, the European mark for high ecological quality.
Also apearing for the first time are Consorzio Capolavori Italiani who will be introducing their antique stone line Roccato di Ostuni.
Roccato di Ostuni is a natural stone that is given a special treatment to simulate the action of wear and tear, giving a worn and rustic appearance to the treated material, including uneven and undulating edges, a polished surface, tonal variations and fossil markings are the main characteristics.
In all of their designs, Consorzio Capolavori Italiani aims to restore and enhance the charm of the past through a meeting of architecture and nature in refurbishment and restoration projects.
The Surface Design Show 2009 will also feature hundreds of the latest and most imaginative products by over a hundred of the world's leading surface designers and manufacturers helping to guarantee that the show remains a unique and must-see event for all architects, designers and specifiers.
