Recent raw material and transport price increases have had a dramatic effect on the costs associated with the installation of suspended ceilings in the first half of 2008.

The cost of standard fiber ceiling tiles alone has increased by a minimum of 6% whilst the metal tile and grid suppliers are levying larger increases, somewhere in the region of 40%.

"We are seeing a dramatic rise in the number of companies restoring their suspended ceiling as opposed to replacement and our business alone has seen an increase of around 40% in the number of projects when compared with the same time last year".

SCR has developed many unique products and services designed to restore an existing ceiling to its original "like new" condition.

Many of SCR's customers are now incorporating the new antimicrobial coatings which are supplied with a silver additive to provide active bacterial control for the life of the coated ceiling.
