High gloss concrete floors benefit environment.
New surface treatment technology from Superfloor, concrete floors shine like polished marble, need minimal maintenance and won't harm the environment.
High gloss concrete floors look great and benefit the environment.
Bare or painted concrete floors are dreary, dusty, dull and a devil to maintain.
With new surface treatment technology from Superfloor , concrete floors shine like polished marble, need minimal maintenance and won't harm the environment.
Concrete flooring is the practical solution in most modern buildings, but it rarely catches the eye for its good looks.
The conventional response is to surface the concrete with paint, epoxy resin or even vinyl, all of which wear quickly, especially in areas of high traffic.
Swedish technology has come to rescue of architects, interior designers, contractors and building managers looking for an aesthetically pleasing, minimum maintenance flooring solution.
In applications from schools, libraries and shopping centres to warehouses and factories, Superfloor provides the ideal answer.
Superfloor is a grinding, curing and polishing process for concrete floors that eliminates the need for environment-damaging chemicals and constant resurfacing with paint or resin.
It creates floors with a high gloss finish, which require only washing down with chemical-free soap to restore their good looks.
This advanced technique involves systematic mechanical refining of the floor surface with a custom-built machine and diamond tools.
Initially, a rough grinding to remove old and dirty coverings takes place, followed by two further grindings to remove the top cement paste and expose the underlying, stronger concrete.
The process is completed 'dry' - ie.without the use of water or other dampening liquid - yet it is virtually dust-free.
The exposed concrete is then sealed, and the impregnated surface is ready for diamond polishing.
With each polishing, a smaller and smaller grit size is used until the surface is complete smooth and achieves the desired high gloss finish.
Several factors affect the final appearance of the polished floor, primarily stone quality and colour, the colour of the cement and the concrete quality.
These factors can, in fact, be used to advantage to create the ideal aesthetic in new buildings.
For example, the cement can be pigmented and different sizes or colours of aggregate can be added to achieve different finished effects.
A logo or brand name can also be embedded in the concrete for the ultimate finishing touch.
Ecologically sound.
This technologically-advanced floor preparation technique from Superfloor respects the environment.
No harmful chemicals are used in the grinding and polishing process.
Cleaning the polished surface requires only stone soap and water, kind to both the environment and the floor.
A Superfloor surface eliminates the need for constant repainting or use of resins - both ecologically unfriendly.
Superfloors are hard-wearing and long-lasting.
Unlike painted or resined floors, they require no further treatment or coating.
Tests carried out on Superfloors in heavy industry under rough conditions have proved their unique durability.
In the long term, this will save costs since no resurfacing or expensive cleaning material are required, nor is there loss of production while the floor is repainted or re-coated.
Concrete floors are extremely good at absorbing sound, especially at low frequency, and with a totally flat Superfloor, vibrations in forklifts trucks are eliminated.
Over time, this will reduce wear and tear on the forklift.
The Superfloor is also resistant to damage and marks from tyres, even if there is scrap metal or gravel on the floor.
Damp is never a problem since concrete allows water or vapour to evaporate naturally.
It won't burn should a welding spark fall on it or go mouldy from standing water, and emits only a minimal amount of particles into the air.
The result is cleaner premises and a better environment for staff and visitors.
The Superfloor technique has been used for many years in Europe and the USA, but has only recently been introduced to the UK.
Its applications are many and varied - anywhere that has a concrete floor will benefit, ecologically and economically, from a Superfloor surface.
Where durability and aesthetics are required, there can be no question that Superfloor is the ideal concrete floor surface solution.
