Surespan has manufactured and supplied a large access hatch in the engine house of Heathrow Airport's new terminal five.

Surespan has manufactured and supplied a large access hatch in the engine house of Heathrow Airport's new terminal five.

The three leaf hatch - which measures 6 X 3 metres - can take up to 5 kN/ m loading.

It has an electric actuator opening which can be activated remotely and is fire rated for up to two hours.

Bill Burke, Contracts Manager at Heathrow Airport said: "We were very impressed with Surespan's proactive approach throughout the whole project".

"The hatch has been well received by the authorities at Heathrow.".
