Surespan has manufactured and supplied several access hatches as part of an ongoing refit of central London's busiest public toilets in Piccadilly Circus.

Surespan has manufactured and supplied several access hatches as part of an ongoing refit of central London's busiest public toilets in Piccadilly Circus.

The hatches are to replace cast iron covers which could only be opened by special machinery and meant that the toilets had to be closed for long periods.

Engineers can now easily open the hatches to quickly carry out work without damaging the surrounding area.

All Surespan hatches incorporate a hold-open stay mechanism to prevent against accidental closure.

A spokesperson from Westminster City Council commented: "The new hatches mean that our engineers can quickly gain access to the drainage pipes to ensure they are maintained in good working order.".
