"Integra is an infinitely expandable automation system," explains Stuart Harvey, Managing Director of Integra's UK representative Silverteam.
"It can be used to integrate and control all the functions in large public buildings such as hospitals and shopping malls, and is equally at home with more modest domestic installations.

Soft starters allow electric motors to start up smoothly over a period of a second or two, rather than coming on-line suddenly which can cause physical damage.
"Creating a fully automated home has stretched the imagination of our colleagues in Dubai, but whatever they come up with is well within the technical capabilities of Interga BM." The first thing potential buyers notice when they visit the villa is the keyless entry through the front door, which is actually a feature of Integra S, a very high security function! A camera built into the Integra S performs a digital face scan as visitors approach to collect biometric information that, like a fingerprint, is unique to every individual.
It then uses voice recognition and if the scan matches data held in the central computer access is granted; if it does not the camera beams a picture of the visitor to internal screens so that the owner can react appropriately.
Upon entering the house visitors may notice lights coming on before them as they move from room to room.
This is achieved through sophisticated motion and presence detection.
Many commercial scale building management systems include these features, but, as Harvey explains, Integra has pushed the state of the art to a new level.
"Home owners can easily programme in their own mood lighting, for example romantic.
This feature is also useful at night because specific sequences can be pre-programme; for instance, if someone gets out of bed, their way to the bathroom can be illuminated, after a preset time the lights can be gently dimmed back and turned off".
Lighting throughout the Jumeirah villa is highly programmable and can be set to create moods and atmospheres suitable for different situations.
The exterior lighting is equally sophisticated, with full RGB (red, green, blue) flood- and spotlighting capabilities, and high tech intelligent safety and security options.
All lighting and air conditioning is voice activated and the system even confirms back audible instructions of lighting changes etc, handheld controllers such as Philips Pronto and Nevo SL can also used in conjunction with Integra to select all lighting, curtain and climate control to show the flexibility of the Integra system and its ability to integrate with third party devices.
"Integra controls every other function that can possibly be imagined, too," raves Harvey.
"Air conditioning, entertainment, fire alarms, outside garden sprinklers can all be automated.
Its all web enabled over a broadband connection and can be accessed by an SMS mobile phone, so absent owners can check their investment remotely.
All functions are logged onto the computer to create a history of activities, and Integra can even optimise things for energy saving, such as turning off the air conditioning if the owner forgets to do so before going on holiday.".
