Load cell and strain gauge amplification
The SY038 is a new product from Synectic Design offering a universal design for load cell and strain gauge amplification.
The SY019EPM-I/O is a standalone unit that will perform the monitoring and log the received data in its 128kb memory.
It is initially set-up with a HyperTerminal connection on a computer via an RS232 or USB link.
The unit can be connected to any serial or parallel printer and will print out a standard report at the end of the day.
If output limits have been exceeded throughout the day the data can be downloaded onto a laptop, where is can be analysed to highlight the possible cause of the problem.
During normal operation the unit can be set-up to raise an alarm if an output limit is exceeded through one of its eight relay outputs.
The majority of the applications where this product has been used have been on the exhaust of a furnace - obviously extremely useful as companies are increasingly required to monitor and control their furnace emissions, this product provides this function at Synectic Designs usual low costs.
It has been used in a wide range of applications from abattoirs to glue factories.
A special version of this unit has been developed to operate in a hospital to monitor the gases used to anaesthetise patients - specifically a monitoring unit for cost purposes.
This wide variety of applications shows that the SY019EPM-I/O can be used for virtually any monitoring task.
Standard input transducers are accepted with 4-20mA signals, optionally the unit can be adapted to read voltage if required.
Simple switch inputs are used to control the start/stop of logging, printing and repeat printing.
Don't forget that this product, our other products and any other information will be available at the Northwest Manufacturing Exhibition at the Reebok Stadium (home of Bolton Wanderers Football Club) on 8th June 2005.
We will be exhibiting on the Engtech Alliance stand.
Synectic Design has been designing and manufacturing industrial process control and measurement instrumentation and systems since 1993 and are considered as leaders in the process electronics industry.
