Syntegra's EPC service for commercial buildings

A Syntegra Consulting product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Mar 9, 2010

Syntegra Consulting has introduced an EPC service for any type of commercial building across the UK.

This move follows a new survey highlighting that only 28 per cent of commercial properties marketed for sale or lease, have the legally required Energy Performance Certification (EPC).

Syntegra Consulting, which specialises in intelligent and green building solutions, employs a nationwide team of qualified commercial energy assessors to undertake the surveys.

These show the energy efficiency of a commercial property on a sliding scale and also quantify the impact the property has on the environment.

Syntegra Consulting's service is designed for any organisation involved in the running or management of a commercial building including property agents, chartered surveyors, property developers and contractors, architects and facilities managers.

In response to the European Performance of Buildings Directive, since January 2009 all commercial property for sale or let now requires a commercial Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) prior to it being marketed.

New commercial buildings are also required to have an EPC.

Syntegra Consulting's commercial EPC service is combined with a recommendation report on how the property's energy efficiency can be improved and what rating can be achieved as a result.

The EPC, once granted, is valid for a 10 year period.

Syntegra Consulting can also provide commercial building owners details of exemptions and advise on the cost penalties for non-compliance with commercial EPC legislation.
