Mains Switching Output Modules For Fire Systems

A System Sensor Europe product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Apr 29, 2003

System Sensor Europe has extended the capabilities of their Fire Systems.

System Sensor Europe has extended the capabilities of the interface modules available as part of its flagship Series 200 plus analogue addressable detector family with the introduction of the M201E-240 and M201E-240-DIN.

The new modules are loop-powered devices controlling an unsupervised double pole relay rated at 5A @ 250VAC.

One set of contacts are normally open, the others closed; the modules are bistable, latching into the on or off state on command from the control panel.

They are used to manage external mains-powered equipment, switching it either off or on depending on the requirements.

Each module has built-in short circuit protection for the communications loop; however, to increase application flexibility, the isolators can be selected or deselected as required.

Bi-colour LEDs indicate normal operation or open or short circuit fault conditions.

Two alternative mounting arrangements are available.

For stand-alone use, the unit is supplied in a high impact flame-retardant ABS enclosure with multiple cable entry drill points in the base, rear and sides of the unit.

The mains wiring area is isolated from the loop interconnections.

To help engineers in the maintenance and fault-finding process, both the LEDs and the decade address switches can be viewed without having to remove the cover of the surface mounting box.

The alternative version is designed for mounting on a standard DIN rail.
