Sika Sarnafil has supplied single ply roofing for Victoria and Stobhill Hospitals in Glasgow, meeting the specification requirements of the government's Private Finance Initiative (PFI) programme.

Forming part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's healthcare redevelopment strategy, the project led by main contractor Balfour Beatty, makes the two hospitals the most modern and well equipped in Scotland.

With the Stobhill site spanning 30,000m2, some 12,850m2 of Sarnafil single ply, in either S327-15EL or G410-15EL Light Grey, was installed across the two sites.

Sarnafil registered contractor Miller Roofing was responsible for the roof's successful installation, working with Balfour Beatty to ensure the project's completion on time and on budget.

Using private-sector finance and management expertise to procure projects traditionally financed and operated by the public sector, PFI and PPP (Public Private Partnership) projects are required to achieve low running costs and meet tight timescales.
