Tarmac Recycling at the forefront of developing a wide range of products and services for the construction industry.
Tarmac is the leading supplier of building materials in the UK and Tarmac Recycling is one of the fastest growing divisions of Tarmac.
Tarmac Recycling is at the forefront of developing a wide range of products and services for the construction industry.
With a focus on innovation it processes waste materials to produce a range of quality recycled aggregates and blended materials.
Working closely with a wide range of companies and organisations, Tarmac Recycling develops sustainable solutions that enable customers to meet the principles of sustainable construction and enhance their environmental performance.
Tarmac Recycling's products and services adhere to the industry's quality protocol, established by Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) and the Highways Agency (HA).
Tarmac Recycling also operates to the highest standards of management having implemented a comprehensive Environmental Management System certified under ISO 14001.
At this year's CIWM Annual Conference and Exhibition (Torbay Park T129), Tarmac will be showcasing a selection of its recycled products and services: Quality Recycled Materials.
50% of Tarmac Recycling product is Type 1 material.
This product is a well-graded, sub-base material that meets the requirements of Specification for Highways, Clause 803 and is used to provide a protective cover of the formation and a load-bearing level for the surfacing layers.
Special Products.
Toptrec is one of Tarmac Recycling's innovative products arising from a solution to a particular customer's needs.
It won the title of 'Recycled Product of the Year' in 2000 at the National Recycling Awards - an awards scheme designed to promote waste reduction, re-use, recycling and sustainable waste management.
Toptrec is a 100% recycled pathway material made from selected waste products from highway reconstruction and maintenance works.
It is usually 20mm down, has good compaction properties, is user friendly and provides an inexpensive, but durable footpath surfacing, especially in rural situations.
Finepath is a combined wearing course and basecourse sustainable surfacing solution, which can be easily laid manually.
It was developed in response to a British Waterways request for an alternative material to the 'black ash' surfacing typically used on canal towpaths.
Finepath has shown an improved resistance to frost-heave, compared to black ash and is also less susceptible to segregation compared to unbound materials.
This environmentally-friendly surfacing solution can now be seen on many of the country's footpaths and towpaths.
Working together.
Tarmac Recycling has established effective customer and supplier partnerships with many local authorities, utilities and developers and is committed to providing a reliable and value-added service.
Tarmac seeks to continuously develop these partnerships, extending new services and products to meet the industry's demand for sustainable construction solutions.
The aim is to ensure that every customer receives a highly responsive and reliable service, delivering high quality products.
