TAC Satchwell at first BCIA Training Awards

Satchwell employee Simon Cliffe scooped an award for the Best Overall Technical Training Student in the first Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA) Training Award.

TAC Satchwell employee Simon Cliffe scooped an award for the Best Overall Technical Training Student in the first Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA) Training Awards Ceremony last night at the Hilton Hotel in Coventry.

Presented with one of only six awards given by the BCIA this year, Simon Cliffe impressed judges after consistently achieving excellent results in controls understanding and engineering excellence in his BCIA Technical Training Programme over the past twelve months.

TAC Satchwell will provide Simon with £500 worth of training to further his career in building controls.

Ann Hull, spokesperson for the Building Controls Industry Association said, "Although the Technical Training Programme is now in its third year this is the first year we have awarded our winners at a ceremony".

"As training is becoming more and more important to employers, this year we have received a record number of companies proving their commitment to controls training by enrolling their engineers on BCIA courses".

"The Technical Training Programme ensures that the industry is stocking the sector with those essential skills needed by the construction and service industries and more importantly at an event like this, those people are being recognised and raising the profile of the industry as a whole".

Simon, who has worked for the company for 14 years, was put forward for the award by his course tutor Keith Doherty after coming top in his peer group.
