TAC Satchwell has announced significant developments to both the hardware and core operating software of Satchwell Sigma, its advanced Building and Energy Management solution.

TAC Satchwell, the leading provider of building automation solutions based on integrated systems, has announced significant developments to both the hardware and core operating software of Satchwell Sigma, its advanced Building and Energy Management solution that incorporates state-of-the-art communication and integration technologies Sigma hardware will now be based on the more powerful ARM7 processor and will also provide RoHS / WEEE compliance

New features introduced include increased network capacity and 10/100Mb auto-sensing/switching Ethernet connectivity.

All the existing and unique Sigma features, including dual hot flash EPROM and dual trunking remain supported.

Dual trunking enables controllers to operate over two different communications networks in areas where guaranteed performance and resilience is critical.

If one network should fail or become overloaded, the system will automatically route information through the second network, increasing reliability and robustness.

The already powerful and intuitive core Sigma operating software has been further enhanced to provide an improved user experience.

Also introduced is the Advanced Security Model (ASM) option.

Featuring the pre-requisite data security and tracking ASM will be welcomed by users in many sectors, but is particularly suited to pharmaceuticals, life sciences and other regulated industries requiring compliance with FDA 21CFR Part 11.

Paul Fileman from TAC Satchwell says: "Our investment in Sigma continues and we are delighted to be able to tell our customers and partners that we have a solid product roadmap in place, including significant enhancements and developments.

"TAC believes in a Customer for Life commitment.

We have always placed an extremely high emphasis on protecting our customers' investments in our existing systems, as well as future solutions, and we will continue to deliver on this promise".

The investment in Sigma follows the merger of TAC and Satchwell Controls in August of 2005, which made TAC Satchwell the fastest growing and most innovative company in its sector.
