'Timber frame: Standard details for houses and flats', a new publication from TRADA Technology will save timber frame construction engineers and architects hours of design time.

A new publication from TRADA Technology will save timber frame construction engineers and architects hours of design time.

'Timber frame: Standard details for houses and flats' will be launched at Interbuild on 25th April.

This unique manual and CD package provides a comprehensive set of constructional details, showing how the best results in timber frame construction can be achieved.

It includes more than 80 cross-sectional drawings and designs, all produced and verified by the UK's leading experts in timber frame construction.

Alex Goodfellow, Managing Director of leading timber frame manufacturer Stewart Milne Timber Systems and a member of the UK Timber Frame Association Technical Committee, said: 'This is an important publication for the timber frame industry.

Not only will it assist architects and designers to detail buildings properly, it will be invaluable for operators on site to ensure that buildings are constructed properly.' Another significant advantage, Mr Goodfellow added, is that Standard Details has been produced independently by TRADA, with the support of the industry and the UKTFA.

'The publication is therefore both credible and robust and will be a great support in developing the market for timber frame throughout the UK.' Cost to TRADA members is £200, with discounts for multiple copies: 2-5 - £125 per copy; 6 or more - £75 per copy.

Non-members' prices are £400, £300 and £250 per copy respectively.

The standard CD will run on a PC only, but Mac versions are available on request.

The publication may be ordered on the TRADA stand at Interbuild (April 23rd - 27th) or by contacting the TRADA Bookshop on 01494 569600.

Visit the TRADA lounge at Interbuild to view advance copies of Timber frame: Standard details for houses and flats.

On each of the five days of the show visitors will be invited to enter their business card in a prize draw, with one copy of the publication being given away every day.
