Visual strength grading - softwood* (7 days).
Grading to BS 4978 'Softwood grades for structural use'.
Cost: GBP830 + VAT (TRADA Member), GBP880 + VAT (Non-member).
Visual strength grading - softwood (3 days, re-sit course).
Cost per place GBP415 + VAT (TRADA Member), GBP445 + VAT (Non-member).
Visual strength grading - temperate hardwoods (oak)* (3 days).
Grading to BS 5756: 1997 'Specification for visual strength grading of hardwood'.
Cost: GBP520 + VAT (TRADA Member), GBP570 + VAT (Non-member).
Scaffold board grading* (4 days).
Grading to BS 2482:1981 'Timber scaffold boards'.
Cost GBP550 + VAT (TRADA Member), GBP600 + VAT (Non-member).
*These courses are also available for Baltic and Russian customers in Latvia.
Alternatively, the courses can be provided overseas at clients' premises.

* TRADA Technology has also just produced a new Wood Information Sheet, 'Timber strength grading and strength classes', which outlines changes to come next year when the European 'Harmonised Standard' for structural timbers, published in the UK as BS EN 14081: 2005 Timber structures - Strength graded structural timber with rectangular cross section, will supersede the standards currently in force.
