Decorative anti-slip chip effect floorcovering
Marley Floors has launched Safetred Spectrum PU, a new decorative slip resistant chip effect floorcovering, which complies with the new European Manufacturing Standard EN 13845.
The specification called for flooring for the corridors, wards and reception areas that would meet the high performance demands of the location but still be aesthetically pleasing.
With a wealth of experience in the healthcare market Marley Floors Eclipse PUR and Safetred Dimension products were the obvious choice.
The Eclipse range was specified to provide greater protection against scuffing and soiling.
A heavy-duty floorcovering, it is ideal for demanding locations such as hospitals.
A unique Pro-Tech polyurethane reinforcement (PUR) makes the product much easier to maintain providing even greater protection from scratching, scuffing and soiling.
Restricting the growth of MRSA, the additional layer delivers a 'no polish' maintenance programme that provides brilliant good looks and lower costs over the lifetime of the floor.
For areas with the risk of slipping, Safetred Dimension has been installed.
This is a distinctive vinyl floorcovering, formulated as a blend of Pearlescent and Opaque chips to create a multicoloured, three dimensional, flake effect beneath a clear vinyl wear layer containing mineral particles.
As part of the Marley Floors safety range, it offers excellent slip resistance combined with strong visual appeal.
Long term Marley Floors installers, Shirtcliffe Flooring contractors were commissioned for the project and in total, have so far installed 1700sq m of Eclipse PUR and 400sq m of Safetred Dimension, using Marley Embond 170 adhesive.
Says a spokesman from the company: "We have installed thousands of metres of Marley Floors over the years so we are very familiar with the product ranges".
"The Northern General Hospital project is ongoing with about four years still left to run and we will continue to use the Marley Floors products throughout the length of the contract.".
