Decorative anti-slip chip effect floorcovering
Marley Floors has launched Safetred Spectrum PU, a new decorative slip resistant chip effect floorcovering, which complies with the new European Manufacturing Standard EN 13845.
Due to the size of the new school, cleaning and maintenance costs were a key consideration in the specification of the flooring, which is why John Hennebry Jnr, of JJ Hennebry and Son , had no hesitation in recommending Tarkett's Linoleum xf and Safety flooring ranges.
Commenting on the installation John Jnr said: "We are extremely pleased with the installation as we finished within the original time frame and the fitting carried out was of the highest quality".
"I am proud to be connected with the project." Tarkett's Veneto xf was specified for use in all the corridors and classrooms.
Offering excellent resistance against abrasions, stains and chemicals, Veneto xf provides an extremely tough, hardwearing surface.
No initial wax or polish is required upon installation, and the 'extreme finish' surface treatment reduces the frequency and extent of cleaning and maintenance regimes by up to 30%.
Veneto xf's easy cleaning properties also reduce the consumption of water, detergent and energy by 50%, making it environmentally sound as well as economical.
The Science laboratories and Home Economics rooms at the school required the added protection of slip resistance, so for these areas John Hennebry specified Tarkett's Safetred Spectrum.
This heavy traffic vinyl flooring is ideally suited to such applications, and its R10 slip resistance rating is enhanced by the inclusion of silicon carbide.
As Safetred Spectrum is manufactured in accordance with EN 13845, the slip resistance is sustainable throughout the product's life.
Cleaning and maintenance costs are again reduced thanks to Tarkett's unique Safety Clean PUR surface reinforcement.
In the reception area of the new combined school, Tarkett's Floorcraft Service was employed to help create a large motif of the school emblem.
This was then installed using Tarkett's Toscano xf, also from the Linoleum xf range, providing a striking welcome to pupils, staff and visitors.
