Topfloor has secured a major contract to supply stairs to Liverpool's prestigious Paradise Street Regeneration Project.

Tarmac Topfloor, one of the UK's leading pre-cast concrete flooring and stair manufacturers has secured a major contract to supply stairs to Liverpool's prestigious Paradise Street Regeneration Project The deal, worth in the region of GBP 1 million over the next three years, will see Tarmac Topfloor, which based in Western Underwood, Derbyshire, play a major role in the GBP 700m redevelopment project as Liverpool prepares to host European City of Culture in 2008

Appointed by Laing O'Rourke, Tarmac Topfloor's range of concrete stair products will feature in 17 individual projects, including a number of retail projects and car parks across the city-centre site.

Covering over 42 acres of city-centre land, the new development will incorporate 1 million square feet of shops including two department stores and one other major store.

A new landmark hotel, pavilions and a public park will also be created, allowing visitors to the city to enjoy dramatic views onto the Albert Dock and the Waterfront beyond.

Paul Lees, Managing Quantity Surveyor, Tarmac Topfloor said: "Our range of concrete stair products will feature in many of the developments that form the Paradise Street regeneration project.

Laing O'Rourke were impressed with our ability to produce stairs in high volumes, offering them the much-needed capacity to allow the project to be delivered on schedule, ahead of the formal opening of the area in 2008.
