Bramall Construction has chosen Heatsave Plus - the latest development in thermally efficient flooring from Tarmac Topfloor.

Bramall Construction, the public sector regeneration specialist, has chosen Heatsave Plus - the latest development in thermally efficient flooring from Tarmac Topfloor - to be installed at four new residential developments in Halifax, Yorkshire.

As one of the first developers to use this new product, Bramall Construction has installed 4,000 m2 of Heatsave Plus across 82 private and social housing units of two to four bedroom properties and apartments.

By combining the exceptional insulating properties of rigid, Expanded Polystyrene infill panels (EPS) and minimal cold bridging, Heatsave Plus can achieve exceptionally low 'U' values of up to 0.18 w/m2k, comfortably exceeding Part L Building Regulations.

This high thermal performance helps to improve the overall energy efficiency of a building, whilst eliminating the need for additional insulation, chipboard or screed finishes, thereby significantly reducing installation costs.

Unlike conventional flooring, the EPS panels used in Heatsave Plus are positioned between the pre-stressed concrete beams rather than on top.

At just 2.5kg per panel, the lightweight system is also simple to handle and fast to install providing contractors with greater ease of installation.

"By fitting insulation between the beams there is no need for an additional layer of insulation which has significantly cut installation times." To complete the Heatsave Plus system, Tarmnac also offers a new fast-flowing concrete flooring solution called Topflow HZ.
