Arctic Jet turned to wireless security specialists Tag Guard to make their massive storage facility fully secure.

Lincolnshire based Arctic Jet Cold Store have invested a substantial sum in opening two huge World War 2 aircraft hangers into high tech cold storage units capable of storing up to 5000 pallets each In addition to being able to offer their customers a fully temperature controlled environment for perishable goods, they wanted to ensure that this excellent facility was also totally secure

So they turned to wireless security specialists, Tag Guard .

The wireless solution was favoured because Arctic Jet wanted perimeter detection around the outside of the hangers, separated by 200 metres of hard standing and surrounded by a mixture of grassed areas and concrete paths - a huge area.

Installing a wired detection system over that area would have meant major upheaval and substantial cost.

Richard Lang, Managing Director of Tag Guard , comments, "The Arctic Jet project was unusual due to the sheer size of the area that required securing - our solution involved zones of wireless active infra red which negated the need for any ducting or civil works and therefore greatly reduced the cost.

"Surveillance has been provided by a static wireless camera covering the rear storage yard and a wireless high speed CCTV dome covering the area between the hangers, the office entrance and the loading bay areas, making the whole area totally secure".

Steve Hill, Director of Arctic Jet Cold Store , said, "We are delighted with the systems that Tag Guard have installed; the combination of infra red intruder and CCTV equipment was exactly what we were looking for and being fully wireless it was relatively quick to install, involved very little disruption and, most importantly, was far less costly than a cable powered and linked system - it is also working perfectly!".
