BASF spray foam system offers seamless insulation

Walltite from BASF Polyurethanes UK is a fast applied spray foam insulation system for internal walls and roofs that once cured, provides a seamless airtight structure.

Offering significantly lower U-values than many conventional alternatives, the continuous spray leaves a minimal amount of surface area without insulation resulting in some cases, a 30 per cent decrease in thermal transmission and an airtight building envelope of low permeability without the need for supplementary material.

Walltite is made thermally efficient due to its closed cell structure and requires only a minimal thickness to achieve maximum energy efficiency.

The closed cell formulation also helps control the movement of vapour and moisture throughout the building, reducing the risk of condensation and mould.

It is durable, does not deteriorate with age and therefore will perform at the same high level over the life of the structure.

The long term energy efficiencies can therefore have a significant effect on reducing fuel bills.

Walltite can be applied to almost any substrate with very little preparation required and no primer.

Unlike conventional insulation materials, there is no waste to remove after installation and no requirement for storage on site.

PU spray foams arrive in liquid form, unlike fibre insulation, which is bulky and needs a clean, dry area for storage.

Installation on site is fast and easy - coverage with Walltite is achieved quickly with one man typically applying up to 200m in an eight hour day.

Time and coverage will clearly depend on the thickness required.

Labour costs are further reduced because there is no need to finish with a membrane - contractors can go straight to plasterboard application.
