Staircase and access specialist TB Davies (Cardiff) has provided a staircase for use in the prestigious Haddon Lake House development, on the Isle of Wight.

The project is the brainchild of owners and designers Phillippa and Steve Lambert who have taken the run-down Victorian sunken garden and transformed it into an oasis of hidden garden treasures.

During the early 19th century this important landscape was split from its mansion house and has since become disused - a miniature 'Lost Garden of Heligan' in a magical seaside setting.

Planning permission was granted to build the new private house, to enable the full restoration to the surrounding landscape.

The site, once complete will be open without charge to the public and schools for educational, charity and fundraising purposes.

The house itself will be occupied by the Lamberts.

They have strived for a clean look using natural materials - slate, marble and plenty of timber.

The staircase is a beech space-saving modular Junior, from the Mobirolo range of made-to-measure Italian staircases.

The staircase will access the large open plan studio at the top of the house, where both Philllippa and Steve will work.
