The podium step was seen at one point to be an answer to filling one of these voids - how can our contractors and trades people safely work at relatively low levels - both indoors and out? A stepladder would be the obvious suggestion, but that is a virtual swear word in many circles, especially phase 2 construction.

And so the podium was born - a cannibalisation of small scaffold towers for the single user.

Alas, injuries have also resulted through the inappropriate use of these products, like many before them.

Corner-cutting contractors have been known not to lock the castors and pull themselves along between tasks, allegedly saving time by not getting down and moving the unit properly.

Podiums have toppled and seriously injured the fool-hardy user.
