Partnership Offers Fresh Option In Map Data Supply
The Building Centre and the National Map Centre are proud to announce their business partnership in the supply of large-scale Ordnance Survey digital mapping to building professionals.
The partnership gives instant and direct access to Ordnance Survey's most up-to-date mapping from The Building Centre in Store Street, Central London, or via The Building Centre's website.
It follows the launch of Ordnance Survey's new internet-based service, Ordnance Survey Options, which gives access to data such as Superplan, Siteplan and Landplan through a network of 60 outlets nationwide.
"This new service is all about flexibility and convenience," says Melanie Osborne, Options Marketing Manager at Ordnance Survey.
"Customers can now access our mapping database when they wish and select the precise and most up-to-date mapping for their requirements".
Surveyors such as Andy Skinner of SDP Surveys, part of SDP Consulting Engineers Ltd, can now access the data whenever they need it.
He says: "We need to be sure that developments to the landscape have been included and recorded exactly.
In order that we can achieve this we access Siteplan, the required mapping for planning permission applications.
Now we can log onto the Internet, at any time of day or night, identify the precise area we need, preview it and by using Superplan mapping download it straight away in a format that is instantly compatible with our CAD software.' The Building Centre is the UK's largest combined exhibition, bookshop, conference facility and independent source of information on products, materials and services for building, architecture, design and home renovation.
John Gibson, The Building Centre's Commercial Director says "As a leading information source for the construction industry, adding the National Map Centre to our range of services will help to enhance the contribution we can make to make to both professionals, designers and self-builders".
National Map Centre are part of the Cook, Hammond and Kell group of companies and are the leaders in the supply of large-scale electronic and printed maps to architects, developers and surveyors.
