The industry charity launched the 'CRASH Hard Hat Appeal' at the New London Architecture Gallery at The Building Centre.

The industry charity launched the 'CRASH Hard Hat Appeal' at the New London Architecture Gallery at The Building Centre.

The Appeal, a fundraising campaign to raise £200,000 for the homeless, was launched by CRASH's long time supporter Naomi Cleaver, design expert and Channel 4 broadcaster of programmes such as 'Honey I Ruined The House' and 'Other People's Houses'.

Several well-known industry people were also present to support the launch.

Guests were taken for a project visit to three CRASH projects based in the capital (The Passage Day Centre, The Cardinal Hume Centre and Thames Reach Bondway Lambeth High Street Hostel) to learn more about the work the charity does to help alleviate homelessness.

To mark the charity's 15th anniversary, CRASH has set itself a fundraising target of £200,000 and is asking individuals and companies from the industry to help raise this by organising their own fundraising events during 2006.

Said Tom Biddlecombe, CRASH Director: "I hope both individuals and companies from the industry will support the Appeal and help us make a difference to the lives of some very vulnerable people who have had been damaged by the experience of being homeless".

"Our promise is that, as always, every penny raised will go directly towards the homelessness projects we assist and none will be spent on administration costs".

"This is due to the unique way our charity core costs are funded by our Patron companies from the industry".
