The Habitats team is able to produce site-specific designs with innovative green engineering.

We live in a time when the world is focusing hard on the need to protect the environment and ensure the survival of species and habitats With this in mind, a new company, Thomson Habitats, was recently launched

The company designs, creates and restores habitats for wildlife.

This includes installing reptile fencing, creating hibernacula for reptiles and ponds for great crested newts, replanting trees and hedgerows, developing wetland areas following civil engineering work and dealing with invasive plants such as Japanese knotweed or giant hogweed.

Phil Watkins, Managing Director of Thomson Habitats, said: "I am delighted to have been asked to help set up this new company".

"Our research showed that there seemed to be a real need for a specialist ecological contracting company that has a genuine sensitivity and understanding of seasonal and other constraints when working with wildlife and habitats".

The Habitats team is able to produce site-specific designs with innovative green engineering to implement successful mitigation, conservation, habitat creation, restoration and habitat and species translocation with as positive an impact on the environment as possible.

As well as practical skills, such as the use of brush cutters, chainsaws, tractors and diggers, staff have a range of other qualifications including PTS, First Aid, CPCS and CSCS cards.

Together with its sister company Thomson Ecology, Thomson Habitats provides a one-stop shop for all ecology services.
