Chris Blythe, CIOB Chief Executive said, "The Construction Manager of the Year Award is unique in its celebration of individual achievement.
It is an honour for the CIOB to get Sir Peter Gershon as Chairman of the judging panel for the 2004 competition.
He brings vast experience of both project and contracts management to this year's competition.
"Sir Peter is currently head of the government's efficiency review, supported by a joint team from the Cabinet Office and the Treasury.
Sir Peter's reform will reportedly revolutionise Whitehall.
I am sure we will see the same rigorous analysis of every application for this year's CMYA title.
"The other judges are senior construction professionals and include past winners.
Their commitment to the awards is superb and the CIOB is indebted to them for the work they put in.
Our need is for a Chairman of judges who understands the broader construction process, but is sufficiently detached to be able to reach the underlying management and leadership qualities that will differentiate between the various excellent nominees and honour the 2004 Construction Manager of the Year.".
