Trevor Patterson a Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) director has been appointed to Northern Ireland's Construction Industry Training Board (CITBNI) board.

Trevor Patterson a Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) director has been appointed to Northern Ireland's Construction Industry Training Board (CITBNI) board, as an employee representative.

CITBNI is headed by Chairman Sean Campbell and supported by a board consisting of six representatives of employers and employees and three from education (all are ministerial appointments).

Trevor Patterson FCIOB said, "This a great honour given the crucial work CITBNI does in encouraging training and learning.

At a time when skill shortages already impact upon construction recruitment to the industry remains lower than that required.

If you combine that situation against a backdrop of considerable infrastructure investment in Northern Ireland and with the predicted effect of the 2012 Olympic construction programme, the CITBNI must play a pivotal role in equipping the construction industry for these developments.
