CIOB and Construction Scholarships
Chartered Institute of Building partners with Manchester Business School Worldwide to offer Construction Scholarships.
The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), in partnership with the Manchester Business School Worldwide (MBSW), is offering a 50% scholarship to a CIOB graduate or chartered member for the School's MBA for Construction Executives The scholarship, worth over GBP7,000, will be awarded by MBSW through a competition in which applicants are required to submit an electronic presentation that considers "How should the role of training and development evolve to meet the needs of a modern construction industry?"

The scholarships are for entry to the course in January 2007 and details of entry deadlines are on the MBSW website www.mbs-worldwide.ac.uk/ciobs.
MBSW academics and representatives of CIOB will assess competition entries.
The winner will be announced in writing by 22 December 2006.
Richard Barrell of Cyril Sweet was the winner of the July 2006 CIOB MBA for Construction Executives Scholarship.
Barrell, 39, a senior project manager with Cyril Sweet, is based in Birmingham and works on the building of the Leigh sports village.
"I was planning to do this MBA as it's really tailored to my needs, but winning the scholarship means that I can start it now rather than wait a couple of years," says Barrell.
The MBA programme was developed in partnership with CITB-ConstructionSkills and through consultation with the leading industry bodies, and is designed to appeal to managers within all construction disciplines, from surveying and engineering through to managing the process.
