Ray O'Rourke and Brian Bruce, leaders of two of the world's largest construction companies, will speak about the future of the construction industry at this year's Chartered Institute of Building Annual Dinner The event to be held at London's Guildhall on March 1st will be a celebration of all that is best in the construction industry

Roger Flanagan CIOB President said, "We know there is criticism of the industry and the necessity for improvement".

"That is healthy, however the CIOB's Annual Dinner gives us the opportunity to shout about the fantastic achievements and advancement in our industry, not just in the UK, but worldwide".

"We are delighted that two of the industry's most influential figures will join us for what should be a thoroughly inspirational evening".

Ray O'Rourke is one of the most influential figures in the UK construction industry.

Laing O'Rourke is responsible for some of the largest projects in the UK ranging from the Birmingham Bullring to Terminal 5 at Heathrow.

Laing O'Rourke is also the delivery partner for London's 2012 Olympics.

Brian Bruce is group chief executive of South Africa based construction and engineering group Murray and Roberts.

With 42,000 employees Murray and Roberts operates in Africa, Middle East, South East Asia, Australasia and North America.

One of their most internationally celebrated projects is the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai - the first seven star hotel in the world.
