Golden networking event for SMEs
Bidding for Gold provides support and training to SME's in construction and built environment sector, to help them work smarter to win better work.

The Bidding for Gold initiative was launched at the CIOB - initiative provides support and training to SME's in the construction and built environment sector.
'Bidding for Gold Network' first event
Bidding for Gold supports the employment and skills needs of the built environment sector in preparing for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Participating SME's will:.
- Discover business opportunities within the South East, collectively worth GBP9 billion per year, some of which will arise from preparation for the 2012 Olympics.
- Gain a perspective on procurement training available through the project.
- Build networks with other construction professionals and organisations.
Companies already engaged on the project are taking part in training workshops covering the areas of:.
Tendering and Bid Writing:.
- Partnering.
- Procurement.
- Market Analysis.
- Business Improvement.
- Financial Management.
Christina Montague Regional Strategy Adviser for ConstructionSkills said, "Improving business performance and competitiveness of construction companies is one of the key challenges facing the industry; this project should help to meet this challenge in the south east".
Participating SME's will have the opportunity to hear from a group of experts from Construction Skills, addressing potential development opportunities within the South East, ConstructionSkills Training Grants and CSCS cards.
The networking event will encourage all participants to 'bring a friend'.
Companies already signed up to the project will be invited to the event, and any other interested companies are also welcome to attend at no charge.
