High-Density Modular Copper Cabling
System

The AMP NETCONNECT Division of Tyco Electronics has introduced the Mini RJ21 Connector System, a high-density modular copper cabling system.

This new 24-pair cabling and connector solution provides up to 12 ports with a single cable It also accommodates applications including 10/100, POE, VoIP, up to Gigabit Ethernet

'This development is revolutionary for our industry', said Julian Riley, UK Business Manager of Tyco Electronics/AMP NETCONNECT: 'One Mini RJ21 connector replaces up to 12 RJ45 connectors to enable higher density on network switches.

Doubling or tripling the number of ports on the switch can significantly reduce the cost of ownership of a new network or maximise the value of an existing network.' When combined with the AMP NETCONNECT Mini RJ21 breakout cassette, the new system provides return-on-investment improvement without affecting existing network cabling.

The trend to corporate consolidations, which results in more people being located in higher-density working environments, as well as the proliferation of VoIP networks, are trends that drive the demand for more active ports in reduced or existing dedicated space.

The traditional modular 4-pair plug and receptacle are unable to meet those density demands.

The Mini RJ21 solution combines reduced form factor, cable management, and channel performance to resolve those problems.

This solution is also applicable for any 'plug and play' environment, including data centres and zone-cabled or open office environments.

In addition, the Mini RJ21 solution provides an application-independent copper platform for applications today and into the future, while reducing cable bulk in pathways and spaces. Request a free brochure from Tyco Electronics/AMP NETCONNECT Division ...
