High-Density Modular Copper Cabling System
The AMP NETCONNECT Division of Tyco Electronics has introduced the Mini RJ21 Connector System, a high-density modular copper cabling system.
It offers enterprise companies and third-party service providers with branch offices, such as banks, medical offices and sales offices, a cost-effective solution to manage the physical infrastructure of those facilities from a centralised location.
With the addition of the Mini-Analyser, the AMPTRAC System delivers corporate HQ levels of IT service availability into the branch environment.
AMPTRAC technology underpins the deployment of continuous IT service delivery by creating 'best practice' business processes for consistent delivery across the branch network.

These processes include change control, fault and incident management, asset and configuration management and service level management.
Change control capabilities cover the optimisation of iMAC processes and real-time management of work orders, and are designed to minimise the 'butterfly effect', in which a small change in one part of the network can have major consequences elsewhere.
Fault and incident management facilities include remote diagnostics of connectivity status and fault location, identification and resolution for root cause analysis, leading to reduced mean time to repair.
For asset and configuration management, the Mini-Analyser provides instant real-time identification, location and audit of all network assets, business impact reporting and assessment, and allocation of recharges.
Service level management provides control of subcontractors and customer service metrics.
'The AMPTRAC Mini-Analyser will save companies with small branch offices significant time and money', comments Chris Leahy, UK System Design Manager of Tyco Electronics/AMP NETCONNECT: 'From a centralised location, network administrators can control the physical layer of these offices without having to dispatch network or cabling technicians, speeding response and reducing downtime.' 'Prior to the development and release of the AMPTRAC Mini-Analyser, implementation of the AMPTRAC connectivity management system within remote office locations was not always financially feasible', adds Leahy: 'However, with the lower AMPTRAC Mini-Analyser cost, typically 60% lower than for AMPTRAC enterprise analysers, implementation of the AMPTRAC system in even the smallest remote offices is economically feasible and offers significant return on investment opportunities.' The AMPTRAC Mini-Analyser provides 128 analyser ports, which typically supports a branch office with up to 64 cabling drops.
It connects to the iTRACS server via the existing wide-area or local-area network and the Mini-Analyser Ethernet port.
The AMPTRAC Connectivity Management solution turns cabling systems and connected devices into an intelligent network by reducing costly and time-consuming manual cable management.
The system allows network administrators to track and document all moves, adds and changes to a network from a centralised location as they occur.
The fully automated system can optimise asset utilisation, maintain highly accurate documentation and help to prevent costly errors.
The AMPTRAC connectivity management system's hardware, coupled with iTRACS software, can be integrated into new or existing networks.
