New Patch Panels For AMPTRAC IIMS System
Tyco Electronics has introduced enhancements to the patch-panel components of the AMPTRAC Intelligent Infrastructure Management System (IIMS).
As a result, there is no need for horizontal cable managers, and the installation occupies only half the rack space required for a traditional cable management solution.
A further benefit of this approach is that it increases rack density and can therefore substantially reduce the floor space required in telecommunications and equipment rooms.
The new panels are available as 24-port (1U) or 48-port (2U) units for 19-inch rack mounting, in loaded or unloaded configurations, with universal wiring to T568A or T568B.
They can be supplied to Category 5e or Category 6 specifications, with performance levels that exceed TIA and ISO requirements.
Versions can be supplied that are compatible with the AMP NETCONNECT AMPTRAC system which unites physical layer hardware with iTRACS software to provide a complete connectivity management system, allowing the tracking and documentation of all moves, adds and changes to the network from a central location as they occur.
