New support for the Green Roof Campaign
The Flat Roof Alliance and The Mastic Asphalt Council have pledged their formal support for the Green Roof Campaign.
Last year, Ruberoid teamed up with Oldham Council in the roofing industry's first public sector partnership deal led by a roofing system manufacturer.
Ruberoid was named principal partner, with St.
Helen's-based Fulwood Roofing Services as sub-partner.
The four-year deal for high performance flat roofing renewal work at schools and other public buildings, was estimated at GBP 1.6 million.
Projects will stipulate use of Ruberoid's SuperFlex FireBLOC membranes and SuperRock mineral wool insulation, an LPCB accredited roofing system with enhanced fire performance credentials.
The project took the Refurbishment - Best Project of over 1,000m2 title at the fifth annual Flat Roofing Alliance National BUR Awards 2005, held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Hyde Park Corner.
Judges cited the project as an "excellent example of good project planning and attention to programming and safety issues".
A project involving Ruberoid's products took joint second in the Refurbishment - Best Project up to 1,000m2 category.
In this project, Julian Tyrell (Felt Roofing) Limited was tasked with the project at Bicester Community College, Oxfordshire, with Ruberoid's SuperRoof Ultrabond range specified for the work.
Ruberoid's head of market development, Chris Ward, said: "These awards recognise our position as the market-leader in waterproof membranes and fire-safe roofing products".
"We have been established for nearly 100 years, and our product range, expertise and knowledge reflect this".
"But it is always very rewarding to receive industry recognition.".
