Bovingdon are one of the few remaining brickmakers who can still duplicate the intricate colours, shapes and sizes of bricks made hundreds or even thousands of years ago.
Distinctive colouring, pleasing hues and fine qualities of finish are all moulded into every brick produced to ensure they will reflect the character of both the environment and the building or structure.
The group employs around 500 people with one of their manufacturing sites at Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.
In early 2004, Bovingdon was looking to improve the company's system of attendance monitoring.
Various purveyors of computerised Time and Attendance systems were considered, and a Tensor system was decided upon as they had been highly recommended by an associate company.
A WinTA Lite system was installed by Tensor in February 2005, with no problems encountered with the installation of the hardware or software.
Training took place at Tensor's training centre in Hail Weston - Cambs, where the quality of the training was very described as very good.
One of the roles of the system is to calculate attendance bonuses.
The WinTA Lite system has been a time saving and much more accurate way for Bovingdon to pick up on whether employees have attended, been late and whether they are actually due a bonus.
Bovingdon chose to use the Tensor Smart Keyfobs, which are small and handy, and use the same microchip technology as the traditional Tensor Smart Cards.
After-sales support from the Tensor Helpdesk has left Bovingdon very happy with the service.
