UKTC, one of the UK's leading trade associations, will be responsible for contacting and recruiting local businesses in the Brighton and Hove area.
UKTC has reached the finals by demonstrating its effective use of technology to create new business opportunities for its SME members.
Through investing in its own domain name, UKTC is able to provide its members with free of charge e-commerce websites and email facilities.
Members are now able to communicate with clients electronically and enter the Public Sector marketplace which requires suppliers to be able to trade electronically.
Through providing a simple template website aided by a wizard tool, members with basic computer skills can update their website and utilise the Virtual Secretary section for pre-formatted letter-headed stationery.
Chris Adams, director of UKTC comments: "Our market research proved that the majority of SME trade companies don't have the confidence, resources or budget to invest in obtaining a website".
"UKTC believes it has never been so important for businesses, however small they are, to have web presence to demonstrate their credibility, product or service information and company history".
"We have also carried out a consumer survey which reveals the trend of finding tradesmen or services on the internet rather than in local directories".
Since offering this new facility, UKTC has seen an increase in membership, reduced costs through communicating electronically with its members and improved time efficiency.
