Sales of the Wolf ATEX torch are set to notably increase as a result of the implementation of the 'ADR European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road'.

Sales of the Wolf ATEX torch, widely accepted in the Hazardous Area market within Europe as one of the most durable torches available, is set to notably increase as a result of the implementation of the 'ADR European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road' In May 2004, this European Directive became a UK Statutory Instrument as the 'Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2004'

These new Safety Regulations, designed to protect personnel within vehicles transporting dangerous and inflammable goods, stipulate that each member of a vehicle crew must be equipped with a pocket lamp 'so designed and constructed that they cannot ignite any flammable vapours or gases which may have penetrated into the interior of the vehicle.' With their state-of-the art design and unique safety features, the Wolf ATEX -compliant torches are particularly suitable for such applications and are being utilized by more than half the UK major fire brigades including London, Northern Ireland, Somerset, Devon and Lancashire, who are using primary cell safety hand torches.

The torch enclosures are very robust with proven impact and chemical resistant properties.

Advanced ergonomic design of the torches enables single-handed switching, even with a gloved hand, to facilitate vehicle inspection.

The fully sealed enclosure, which incorporates the switch contacts, ensures much greater reliability of operation, especially in wet conditions.

Other users who recognize the improved benefits and performance of the ATEX Safety Torch in potentially hazardous environments include; - police authorities, HM Customs and Excise, chemical processors, oil and gas producers, ocean going tanker fleets and RAF ground and air crews.
