Victorian Woodworks Contracts installed Jatoba wood flooring throughout the Business Premier Lounge and ticketing area at the refurbished St Pancras International.

Offering ideal properties for this heavily foot-trafficked environment, Jatoba has inherent beauty, a rich colouring and is notable for its hardness and durability and ease of maintenance London and Continental Railway's hugely successful GBP800 million restoration of St Pancras International station has seen this magnificent station immaculately restored and intelligently rebuilt - a Victorian classic reborn for a new age

St Pancras International undoubtedly ranks alongside other great railway stations of the world such as Grand Central Terminal, New York and Milano Centrale.

The project completed on Eurostar's 13th anniversary and marked another extension of Europe's high-speed network, which now stretches to 2,330 miles allowing trains to glide between Italy, Spain, France, Germany and the UK.

The original St Pancras station was designed by William Barlow, the Victorian engineer with a vision that embraced scale in a way that reflected the Great Britain of the day with its Empire, ambition and accompanying grandeur.

What defines St Pancras International is the sense of space, achieved through its incredible iron roof made up of 18,000 glass panes that vaults 105ft high, spans 243ft and is 690ft long.

"The refurbishment of St Pancras International proved to be a stunning success story from start to finish".

"We were thrilled to be involved with ISG, the station fit-out contractors working for client Bechtel on the flooring requirements, and the Jatoba floor delivered beauty and strength that further enhances this truly amazing landmark rail station", remarked Shane Williamson, Managing Director of Victorian Woodworks Contracts.

For over twenty years, Victorian Woodworks Contracts have been installing their wide range of high quality floorcoverings throughout many of the UK's leading commercial and domestic environments.

Their product range includes reclaimed, antique and new solid hardwood floors, engineered boards, luxury carpets, beautiful bespoke rugs and leather floor and wall tiles, plus an in-house service offering wooden floor restoration.
