Colour for 47% of TimberWindows.com installations

Timberwindows.com, the engineered timber window system company, says 47% of its installations in 2008 were 'colour' - up on 35% in 2007.

"French Grey and Cream are most popular of the non-white options, although there's also an increasing trend for black, and a market for our stained finishes Calvados, Cyprys and Wenge", explains Managing Director Chris Brunsdon.

Dual or multiple coloured windows have also grown in popularity, with almost twice as many such installations in 2008 compared with 2007.

Uniquely, TimberWindows.com is able to combine up to six colours on one window.

"Selling something different is particularly important in a competitive and uncertain economic climate," says Chris "and colour is an easy way to differentiate yourself".

"Since PVC-U took off in the late 1970s, the option for most (including timber and aluminium companies) has been 'any colour you like as long as it's white'".

"But with a wide and easily available choice, colour is making a comeback".

"Timber is a particularly strong material for colour, as it enhances its natural beauty rather than disguising flaws - homeowners love it".

Teamed with Europe's leading paint manufacturer, Dyrup, TimberWindows.com offers a colour range and quality that's second to none.

The paint is micro-porous, making it extremely durable and simple to re-coat when required.

Paint finishes come with an eight year guarantee.

TimberWindows.com Registered Installers are armed with a core range of 18-20 colours but any other standard RAL colour is available.
