New 'Best Health and Safety Initiative' award at the recent Specialist Contractor Awards ceremony organised by Department of Trade and Industry in association with Building magazine.

The Health and Safety People, a fast growing consultancy offering an in-depth range of health and safety services to a wide range of construction and commercial clients, is proud to announce today its involvement in sponsoring the 'Best Health and Safety Initiative' award at the recent Specialist Contractor Awards ceremony organised by Department of Trade and Industry in association with Building magazine.

Created to honour the best of Britain's rapidly growing specialist contractors market 'The Specialist Contractor Awards' includes the 'Best Health and Safety Initiative' award, which was set up to raise awareness of the number of accidents occurring on UK construction sites.

It aims to reward those companies successfully employing safety initiatives to protect both their employees and their own reputation in the construction industry.

Commenting on its sponsorship of this special award, John Thoday, Managing Director, The Health and Safety People said, "We are very proud to have sponsored the 'Best Health and Safety Initiative' award, as it directly reflects our commitment to fostering excellence among construction companies through training and advice." Many of The Health and Safety People's own clients were to be found among the winners and nominees in other categories of the Specialist Contractor Awards.
