Health and Safety People have launched a new Service Package designed to lighten the load for companies operating in the commercial and construction sectors.

The Health and Safety People, the Bedfordshire based health and safety consultancy, has launched a comprehensive new service package designed to lighten the load for companies operating in the commercial and construction sectors Conceived to allow companies to outsource the key health and safety functions that can otherwise be neglected or overlooked, the new service package starts with a site visit and formal assessment of a client company's working procedures

The Health and Safety People's consultants identify any current or potential hazards, any statutory health and safety requirements and training needs.

A full report included in the service highlights any shortcomings in health and safety procedures, analyses the severity of the prevailing situation and outlines any actions required to improve the situation.

The information gathered from the Health and Safety report will provide the basis for a health and safety manual, which can be amended and updated by the Health and Safety People's onsite consultant in accordance with changes to legislation or changes within the workplace.

The manual will cover a range of areas such as The Health and Safety at Work Policy Statement, risk assessment, fire regulations, accident and disease reporting and occupational health and first aid requirements.

Advice on how to follow these guidelines is also provided by the onsite consultant.

The whole service is supported by the Health and Safety People's telephone hotline, which allows companies to obtain further advice from its consultants.

Customers taking up the service package also receive a discount on all Health and Safety People organised training courses, which include safety inductions, safety awareness and safe manual tool handling.

Commenting on the new initiative, John Thoday, Managing Director, The Health and Safety People said, "Most companies appreciate that they need to keep up to date on health and safety for the sake of their business and the people who work in it, but all too often it sinks to the bottom of priorities in busy commercial environments.

By subscribing to our new Service Package businesses can easily fast-track their health and safety plans and ensure that they are fully up to date.".
