TRADA, the Timber Research and Development Association has opened up the core technical information on its askTRADA website (www.asktrada.co.uk) to non-members.
Chief Executive Andrew Abbott said: 'We took the decision to give easy access to the wealth of information contained on askTRADA and the response has exceeded our expectations.' TRADA members are benefiting directly, he added.
'The suppliers' directory on the website was set up to provide a fast link between suppliers and specifiers.
We are monitoring enquiries and for some members the click-throughs to their website can be as high as 50 a week, producing 10 - 12 business leads by email as a result.' TRADA is investing further in the suppliers' directory to define categories more clearly.
Members' information will be better presented, to make it even easier for users to find the right product.
'For supplies, the only route to inclusion in the directory is by joining TRADA,' said Mr Abbott.
'This is a positive benefit of Corporate membership and the askTRADA visitor statistics are tangible proof of that.'.
