We also expected to increase Corporate Membership, but more slowly than has in fact been the case.' The main driver behind the increase, he believes, is the askTRADA Directory, which lists products and services available from TRADA members.
'This is clearly a strong incentive for suppliers to join TRADA, as the only route to inclusion is by becoming a Corporate member.
The Directory attracts more than 50,000 page views on average per month, and at least 6,000 click-throughs to members' sites.
'We have decided therefore to further develop the Directory and will launch next month a new and improved format that will highlight members' roles in the supply chain,' Mr Vibert added.
The new format will categorise suppliers as agent, distributor, retailer, manufacturer or installer and will also identify at a glance which companies hold chain of custody and ISO 9001:2000 certification, as well as BM TRADA Q-Mark product certification.
The searchable categories will be extended to give more opportunity to differentiate products more clearly.
