TRADA, the Timber Research and Development Association has opened up the core technical information on its askTRADA website (www.asktrada.co.uk) to non-members.
Eleco Wins TRADA-sponsored Award
Eleco plc has won the TRADA-sponsored 'Best Technical Information Support Award' for its Ecojoist timber engineering technical manual on CD-ROM.
The informative evenings have successfully brought together architects, engineers, contractors, joinery companies, timber traders, merchants and manufacturers, all with a common interest in timber.
The West Midlands event will take place at the Ardencote Manor Hotel, Claverdon, Warwick, easily accessible from the M40.
The evening presentation will comprise short case studies on 'Contemporary Timber Buildings', incorporating wood structure, cladding, external joinery or decking.
CPD certificates will be available on request and the presentation will cover:.
* Achieving the desired appearance.
* Designing and specifying for durability and performance.
* Combining timber with other materials.
* The building process.
* Experience in use.
There will again be a small exhibition of timber-based building products and services, which will be open throughout the evening alongside the seminar and buffet dinner.
Evening Programme 5:30 - 6:30 Arrival, coffee and exhibition 6:30 - 7:30 'Contemporary Timber Building Case Studies' - presented by Paul Newman, Site-based Services Manager, TRADA Technology .
7:30 - 9:00 Buffet dinner and exhibition TRADA members are offered one free place.
Additional member and non-member places are available at £30 + VAT each.
A further 'TRADA in the Regions' event is planned for Yorkshire - M1/M62 interchange - in the autumn.
