Tremco Achieves 9001:2000 Accreditation

A Tremco illbruck product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Apr 21, 2004

Tremco Europe's UK facilities at Wigan, Slough and their Nullifire premises in Coventry, have been awarded BS EN ISO 9001:2000 accreditation.

Tremco's specialist sealants, coatings and passive fire protection products for the new construction and building refurbishment markets are sold throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Tremco's Quality Consultant, Eric Porter, has guided the company from its previous accreditation status BS 9002, through the transition to meet the latest requirements.

These are highly customer and supplier-focused, whilst seeking a more tangible link with output processes and quality systems.

"Overall," says Eric Porter, "the new standard is more outward looking than before, with the emphasis on measuring and analysing what we do and seeking to improve continuously.

This applies to all our core activities including purchasing, manufacturing, training and customer relations management." Transition from the old to the new standard was required by the 15th of December last year and Tremco comfortably achieved it by November.

Underpinning the whole process was a quality audit, supervised by Eric Porter with additional guidance from BSI auditors.
