Land Registry sealed using Tremco Dymonic NT
Tremco has supplied the exterior refurbishment of a Land Registry building with its high performance Dymonic NT sealant to complete the installation.
The exterior refurbishment of a Land Registry building in Birkenhead has included raising the specification of both the fenestration and the cladding systems, while Tremco has supplied the project with its high performance Dymonic NT sealant to complete the installation.
Salisbury Glass was awarded the contract to replace the sub-standard single glazed windows and tired metal cladding panels on Old Market House, a building dating from the 1970's.
While a rival product had initially been specified for the pointing, Salisbury Glass preferred to work with a sealant it had full confidence in and asked for Dymonic NT to be considered.
Commercial Director for Salisbury Glass, Chris Grigg, comments: "Old Market House is one of two properties in Birkenhead occupied by Land Registry and it desperately needed its original aluminium windows and its aluminium cladding replaced".
""We fabricated new high performance, composite, double glazed frames for the window openings and zinc cladding panels in place of the old aluminium system.
For the expansion joints, we selected Dymonic NT from Tremco.
"Tremco wrote a new specification which matched all of the requirements for the scheme, providing us with a more economic solution".
"We have built up a good working relationship with Tremco over recent years and it makes sense to stick with one supplier whose range and technical back up can meet all of our needs".
Dymonic NT - selected in redwood tan colour to match the frames - was installed over the seven floors of Old Market House by Truseal Limited, working as a specialist sub-contactor to Salisbury Glass.
Dymonic NT is a low modulus, polyurethane elastomeric sealant suitable for sealing joints up to 100 mm wide in civil engineering structures as well as architectural applications.
It offers excellent adhesion, while its exceptional movement accommodation of +100% and -50% makes it ideal for buildings subject to dynamic movement.
