Tremco launch Treadfast Uniflow smoothing compound on a contract for regional retailer Booths.

The established performance benefits of Tremco illbruck's Treadfast One Coat Universal surface damp proof membrane have been combined with the advanced smoothing technology presented by the manufacturer's recently launched Treadfast Uniflow smoothing compound on a contract for regional retailer Booths.

More than 1000 square metres of the Treadfast Uniflow was laid over the top of the high performance surface damp proof membrane.

This system approach permitted the early installation of Armstrong Scala and Imperial sheet vinyl materials, the floor coverings favoured by Booths.

The flooring installation work on the Booths store at Kendal in Cumbria was carried out by Hyde Flooring, working in close cooperation with Marsden Building Contractors and the chain's own construction division.

The Director for Hyde Flooring, David Tomlinson, comments: "In this instance we recommended the Treadfast One Coat Universal and the new Treadfast Uniflow material to the architect on the project, Helen Baldwin.

She, however, had already contacted Tremco illbruck regarding a suitable specification.

"We scarified the surface of the power floated concrete to provide a key for the Treadfast One Coat Universal membrane and then smoothed the entire floor area using the new Treadfast Uniflow compound.

This made the surface very smooth and ready to receive the Armstrong vinyls which were bonded with Tremco illbruck's Treadfast 108 adhesive.

Everyone is very pleased with the outcome and we have used the same specification for the latest Booths store in Chorley".

Treadfast Uniflow is a one-part, self-levelling cementitious flooring compound which offers very rapid rates of progress.

Up to 2,000 square metres can be laid per day in thicknesses from 5-15 mm across concrete subfloors.

When used in conjunction with Treadfast One Coat Universal or Fastrak Universal, application to a maximum of 6mm of Treadfast Uniflow can be applied with no priming required.
