Listed hotel roof gets the Tremco treatment
Tremco's Hi-Therm system has been used to effect repairs to the leaking flat roof at Manchester's landmark Midland Hotel.
The Weir Estate in the London Borough of Lambeth was the subject of a detailed and intensive programme of works carried out under the supervision of The Potter Raper Partnership and the council's own Housing Property Services, Major Works Department.
Completed below budget and ahead of programme, the roof repairs and installation of the Hi-Therm system was carried out by Russell Trew Limited - a Tremco approved specialist contractor - re-roofing Weir House, Jewell House, Dan Bryant House, Quennel House, and Olding House.
The three to five storey properties were scaffolded to provide access and Russell Trew brought in several teams of roofers to speed the programme and allow more than one building to be worked on at the same time.
A spokesperson for Potter Raper comments: "Tremco's Hi-Therm system was approved for the re-roofing of the flats on the Weir Estate on the basis of its successful track record".
"All parties associated with this contract should be congratulated for their help and cooperation, which enabled the work to be completed below budget and ahead of programme".
The Tenant Liaison Officer for Russell Trew Limited, Viera Gazdova, adds: "The work went very smoothly and the client is very pleased with the outcome of the project".
The existing areas of asphalt were repaired, had their insulation upgraded and were finished using Tremco Elastomeric Felt mineral finish cap sheet in terracotta colour with matching Torch-On Felt employed to detail the parapet upstands and the many service penetrations.
