Tremco illbruck specification for Newbury store
Redevelopment of traditional style department store has featured the use of specialist flooring materials from the Tremco illbruck range.
The redevelopment of a traditional style department store has featured the use of specialist flooring materials from the Tremco illbruck range, specified to combat the risk of residual moisture in new concrete floor slabs, and thereby speeding completion of the internal fit out.
Pickard Interiors specified Treadfast One Coat Universal followed by Treadfast Unitex as the correct preparation for laying high quality vinyl floorcoverings within the new sections of the long established Camp Hopson store in Newbury.
Managing Director, Richard Pickard explains: "We are a regular user of Tremco illbruck flooring products, particularly where we need a membrane to deal with damp in new concrete construction.
In the case of the Camp Hopson store in Newbury, while part of the building was refurbished, it was the new build elements which needed the DPM installing.
"The contract involved a lot of out of hours working due to the very tight nature of the programme and the rapid installation characteristics of the Treadfast One Coat, therefore, helped us to achieve completion on schedule.
There were no problems at all with the performance of the materials and the finished scheme looks very striking".
The total area of floor surface treated with the One Coat Universal and the Unitex was in the region of 2,000 m.
Properly prepared, the power floated concrete slabs were finally laid with a mix of Amtico and Marley materials in a variety of colours with feature strips and borders.
